Richards Bay FC Face Tough Test in KZN Derby
Richards Bay FC will travel to Chatsworth Stadium to face Durban City FC in a highly anticipated KZN derby match on Saturday. The Citizens have been in good form, but they will need to be at their best to take down the Natal Rich Boys.
Assistant coach Musa Nyatama acknowledged the demands of the quick turnaround but believes the result against Golden Arrows gives the team something to build on. "It's a very difficult schedule, especially with the games coming so close together, but we got a positive result against Arrows and managed to take a point. Now we must recover well, prepare properly and make sure we're ready to fight for maximum points against Richards Bay," he said.
The two provincial foes are no strangers to one another, having already met during the off-season in the Premier's Cup, where the Natal Rich Boys progressed after a penalty shootout. This time, however, the two sides meet again at Chatsworth, with Richards Bay making the trip to face the Citizens in a league encounter.
Nyatama expects a difficult encounter against the Natal Rich Boys, while Durban City will be looking to sharpen things up in the final third after being held to a goalless draw by Arrows on Wednesday. "They are a tricky side, so we know it will be a difficult game. We have been playing good football, but we need to be more effective in the final third and make our chances count," he said.
The Citizens will now look to build on Wednesday's performance and turn their point against Arrows into a winning result when Richards Bay arrive at Chatsworth on Saturday.
