Richards Bay FC have agreed a deal to appoint Dimitar Pantev as their new head coach. The club is looking to begin a new chapter under the experienced African football manager.
Pantev is currently travelling to South Africa from Botswana, accompanied by his agent, to complete the final formalities of his appointment. He is expected to sign a contract that runs until the end of the current Premier Soccer League season, with an option to extend the agreement. The club has not yet issued an official confirmation.
The 14th-placed side, with just three points from six games, are seeking stability after a difficult start. Their recent form reads LLDDD, with heavy defeats in their last two outings including a 5-1 loss to Milford FC. Pantev is expected to take charge ahead of the team's next challenge, a home fixture against sixth-placed Sekhukhune United.
Pantev brings experience from several clubs across the continent, having previously coached Jwaneng Galaxy and Gaborone United in Botswana, as well as Simba SC in Tanzania. His immediate task will be to organise a defence that has conceded 13 goals this campaign while finding a way to get the best from top scorer N. Xulu, who has three goals.
